FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We listen to our customers, and change our practices to meet their needs. Here are some of the questions customers have about commercial and industrial roofing.

  • How do I know if my roof needs to be replaced?

Typically, roofs require replacement every 20-30 years. If you are unaware of the age of your roof, signs that a roof requires replacement include: leaks, internal water damage, bald spots on material, dents, mold, and so forth.

At R.H. Marcon, Inc., we have created a Roof Maintenance Program to ensure the longevity of your roof.

  • How long do roofs last?

Different materials have different life cycles. Metal roofs may last 30-50 years. Rubber and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofs may last 25-30 years with no annual maintenance. With proper maintenance, however, rubber and TPO roofs may last 30+ years. Our Roof Maintenance Programs are designed to prolong the life cycle of your roof.

  • If my roof leaks, do I need a new roof?

If a leak is coming from a complex spot on your roof, such as around a chimney or a recent dent sustained from a storm, a small repair may work. If your roof is older and leaking from multiple worn spots, then a roof replacement is likely warranted.

If you have a leak, R.H. Marcon, Inc. will send an expert to locate the damaged areas, determine the best and possible courses of action to treat the area, and then make a recommendation for you and your business.

  • What is the best type of roof for my business?

Roofing systems are unique to each individual project, so R.H. Marcon, Inc. sends an expert out to evaluate your roof before answering this question. Commercial and industrial roofs often require materials such as metal, rubber, and bitumen. We offer a wide range of roofing systems at R.H. Marcon, Inc., and our team of experts offers only the best materials for your unique project.

  • How long does it take to replace a roof?

Roof replacement timelines vary drastically according to the building size, roofing type, and location of the project. Some projects can be completed in one business week, while others require multiple weeks. Roofing occurs in stages, however, and we will work with your company to make sure that our project timeline aligns with your needs.

  • What is the cost of a new roof or roof replacement?

New roofs and roof replacement costs vary drastically according to the building size, roofing type, and complexity of the project. Different roofing systems also vary in cost based on the materials used in the roofing system. Our experts will provide estimates that show different pricing options based on the best roofing sytem for your individual project.

  • Can my roof be insured?

The best roofing contractors believe in their materials and are able to provide warranties on their products and roofing systems. At R.H. Marcon, Inc., we provide you with a two year warranty on all of our roofing products. We also offer Roofing Maintenance Programs to help ensure the longevity of your roof.

  • How do I know if my roofing contractor is legitimate?

For commercial and industrial roofs, you should only trust a local, established company that offers warranties and maintenance programs on their projects. The general rule of thumb with roofing contractors is that a roofer who believes in their roof will work to protect that roof and ensure its longevity.

You may also research or ask about a contractor's reputation locally. To learn more about our reputation at R.H. Marcon, Inc., visit our Why Marcon? page.

  • Can I have a roof installed in the winter?

We work all year at R.H. Marcon, Inc., as major roofing issues, such as water, storm, or tree damage, is not limited to spring, summer, or fall. Large roofing projects may take longer to complete during a harsh winter if we have to wait for clear days and store materials differently to avoid freezing. But we believe that waiting longer is best in the long run to ensure that your roofing system is installed properly and to the best of our abilities.
